What is CBD?

Let’s Learn About CBD

CBD is a natural product used in the treatment of various conditions for hundreds, maybe thousands of years. It is an abbreviation of cannabidiol and is a type of cannabinoid that was discovered in 1940.

It’s is extracted from cannabis plants and can be up to 40% of the content of the extraction – with over 100 cannabinoids in the plant, that is a large proportion for an individual type.

CBD is diluted with a carrier oil for use and the quality of the CBD oil available on the market can vary. At Happy Hemp Farmacy, we’re passionate about living a great life, and so our CBD oil is always of the best quality. We grow the plants ourselves, formulate the products, and have built our reputation on caring for people and making a difference in their lives.

Does CBD oil have THC?

As CBD is extracted from the cannabis plant, it is common to think that it has the same properties as marijuana. So, does CBD get you high? No! The composition of the cannabis plant includes a compound called THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol. THC is psychoactive, which can alter your state of consciousness.

CBD does not contain THC and is therefore not a psychoactive compound, which means you cannot get high from using CBD. The benefits of the plant are still available purely through CBD, which is why CBD oil is effective.

What is hemp and is it legal to grow hemp?

Just as with many plants, there are different varieties of the cannabis plant (properly, the cannabis satvia species). Hemp is a particular type of the plant that is grown specifically for industrial use, for example, producing fibers. Until around 200 years ago, the majority of all textiles were made from hemp-based fibers, rather than cotton.

It is legal to grow hemp in many countries and many states in the US, but it may be subject to government regulation. Is CBD oil legal in all 50 states? No, in several states CBD is illegal, but the laws are changing for the better all the time.

Is hemp oil and CBD oil the same?

This is a little like asking, what is the difference between hemp and marijuana? Hemp is often low in THC and high in CBD content, and hemp oil is made from the seeds of the plant. CBD oil is made from multiple parts of the plant including the stalk and flowers.

What is full spectrum CBD?

Generally, there are two types of CBD products available – CBD isolate and full or broad-spectrum CBD. What is CBD isolate? It’s simply pure extracted CBD. Within the plant, there are many different cannabinoids, and full spectrum CBD includes them all. This can make products made from full-spectrum CBD more useful, as cannabinoids work more effectively in unison than individually.

CBD Oil Benefits

So now you know what CBD is, it’s time to look at the benefits. Creating a lifestyle with CBD is easy with the products available from Happy Hemp Farmacy, and one of our most popular products is CBD oil. The potency of our CBD oil is guaranteed as it is checked for potency by a third party. We are provided with a certificate of analysis that ensures every time you receive CBD oil from us you can be certain it will be just as good as the last.

We grow, we formulate, and love what we do, which is why we put stringent measures in place to make sure the quality of our CBD oil is the best it can be. Without such checks, inferior CBD oil would not have the desired effect, and leave you no better off than you are now.

But what are the benefits of CBD oil, and what can it help with?

Relief from everyday stress

One of the benefits of CBD oil is the ability it gives your body to relax. Stressed out from a hard day at the office or spent an hour fighting a tiger? Your body doesn’t know the difference, and releases stress hormones that can be damaging in the long term and disrupt your life in the shorter term. CBD oil helps your central nervous system to calm down and helps you to enter a state of relaxation.

Support for a healthy sleep cycle

Sleep is one of the most important things a human can do. With poor sleep, you not only function poorly in your everyday life, but become more susceptible to chronic diseases including cancer.

Research has shown that CBD helps users to sleep well and sleep longer at night – less time tossing and turning and more time actually asleep. This contrasts with CBD’s ability to increase alertness during the day, improving both ends of the sleep cycle.

Muscle recovery from exercise

Your body enters rapid repair mode during sleep, and the sleep benefits provided by CBD can have a positive effect on muscle recovery too. Melatonin is produced by your body during sleep and is the hormone that helps your muscles to recover. Plus, CBD is anti-inflammatory, which will increase the speed at which your body is able to repair itself.

Pain Management

We love being out in nature – after all, Happy Hemp Farmacy is a farm, and you can’t get closer to nature than that. Unfortunately, getting out anywhere can be a struggle for a lot of people. You might be in constant pain, struggle with problems with your joints, and generally feel unable to get outside and experience the world.

Fortunately, one of the great benefits of using CBD oil is its ability to help you manage pain. You may suffer from chronic pain caused by arthritis, fibromyalgia, migraines, or some kinds of sclerosis (such as multiple sclerosis, primary lateral sclerosis, or even amyotrophic lateral sclerosis – also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease) and it’s good to know that many people find CBD oil to be helpful.

Research indicates that CBD oil affects the human body’s endocannabinoid system, which is used in part for cells to communicate with each other. This system influences the way in which the body experiences pain and use of CBD can reduce the effects of pain.
Furthermore, as noted above, CBD oil can reduce inflammation, which is another factor in the expression of pain. This is especially true if the oil is applied topically.
